Meet Dana

Hi Friends!

I’m Dana. To get something out of the way quickly... you say my last name Mat-Knock! *palm over face*  Moving on! I’m a wife to Josh and a mom to three awesome kids.  I’m a dreamer and a doer by nature. I love creating and reading. I’m an introverted extrovert (that’s a thing) and if you find me in an awkward silence I’ll be sure to fill it. I’m passionate about gathering women- whether it’s for food or discipleship. Going deep, fast, in friendships is my jam. I love to truly know people so I can better serve them and meet them in the highs and lows of their lives.  I also love to feel known for the same reasons.  Doing the messy parts of life together with like-minded people is the best part about being relational.  I strive to be intentional and to show God’s love to those around me.  I want to give people Jesus so they'll give Him away too.

I’m currently in the trenches of motherhood with 3 small children, 5 and under.  My husband and I just moved our family to the eastern side of Pennsylvania and we are in the process of getting ourselves acclimated and connected.  At this point we are still using Google maps everywhere we go. Hah!

This move has not been easy but we knew without a doubt that it was what God was calling us to do.  I’m hopeful for what the future will bring as a result of our obedience but I’m also trying to work through all the not-so-fun stuff that happens in between.

This will be the place I do just that. You’ll find the ins and outs of me trying to navigate this new city, make friends, find a church, be a supportive wife, and raise perfect kids. Kidding about that last part!!! We are at that “mom walks away from kid screaming bloody murder in Target pretending he’s not hers” phase with my two year old haha! I can laugh because if not, I’ll cry.

So all in all, showing up here is another act of obedience for me.  There’s a lot more to this story that I will write more about later but there has been a lot of push and pull between the Lord and myself to get me to this point. The main idea is that, sometimes, you just have to show up and do the next right thing that’s in line with what God’s telling you, whether you want to or not.

Head over to the “I’ll Go First.” tab to read about what brought me to that mission.

Looking forward to spilling my guts and God's word all over the world wide web. No, but really.
