THE WORD: WHAT YOU'LL FIND HERE

In the first post for this section, I want to give an overview of what you can expect.  First and foremost I do not want this website to be a substitute for you spending your own quality time with the Lord. I strongly encourage and suggest that you spend time in prayer and in your Bible digging through His word.  With that being said, I do know that tools can be helpful and there are many times in my day when things are spinning out of control around me and I do not even have the brain capacity to pick a page to open to.

Think of this website as a resource- not THE source.  Here you will find WHERE I am studying in the Bible, WHAT I’m learning, and HOW I plan to apply what I’ve learned in my own life. Sometimes I study books of the Bible in full and other times I'm pulling from multiple verses.

If you are feeling stuck or stagnant and are following along, I would encourage you to read God’s word and then have your own time of reflection before coming to read the “what” and “how” portions for the entry.  This way my emotion and reflection does not cloud your response or take clarity away from what the Lord is speaking to you personally through His word.

I am by no means a qualified Bible teacher or preacher.  I have no formal seminary training or Bible classes under my belt.  EXCEPT for the New Testament class I had to take in college where the professor made us memorize Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and write them down in our own words for each of the tests. IT WAS THE WORST THING EVER and not an ideal way to help me retain any information.

Anywaysssss. The saying “God does not call the equipped, He equips the called,” well that is me right now.  I'm praying that with each post, He will equip me.  As I’ve mentioned before, this website is an act of obedience for me and something that I have resisted, delayed, and ignored for awhile.  BUT, DELAYED OBEDIENCE IS DISOBEDIENCE!!! So I figured I better get myself in gear before He gets my attention in some other way.

So here I am, just a wife and stay at home mom, trying to navigate God’s word and make His name known.  I’m trying to implement what I learn in my own life and use it to make disciples. This really isn't about me or my fear of judgment.  It’s about Christ.  If He is increasing and I am decreasing then we are on the right track.
